August Picnic @ Home Station
2008
This was the first August Picnic without Ma.  But, in many ways Ma was there looking over and caring for us.

Pa had told folks that the Picnic for 2008 would be a memorial for Ma.  He planned to say or have said a few words in her memory.  He could not bring himself to say such, nor did he find the courage to ask some one else.  He did however, prepare a spot for her, outside at the picnic.  As he was placing the table for the urn, it was raining a tad.  Thus, he found an unbella to cover the table.

Larry asked if he could carry Ma's urn outside.  Thus, he did with great pride.  He later relayed that evening, "You know what, it was raining when I came out of the house, but as soon as I placed Ma - the Sun came out, and we have had a great time.

As stated Pa was unable to say a 'few words'.  However, he did notice that several went over to Ma
and in thier own way paid respect.
